Lunch 1pm-2pm. 16 hours Cost: 11,000 baht - includes material, e-book, refreshments & lunch. Discounts: MARCH Discounts: For more background information about the Rapid Learn to Read Thai system and the self-study e-book, Free Bonus: Read Thai in a Day e-book worth 2,000 baht. And if you've already purchased the book then you get your money back! Would you like to be able to read the following simple conversation? - สวัสดีค่ะ คุณแพ็ท สบายดีไหมคะ? Using an approach based on quirky visual associations and bizarre (and obscene!), shocking stories, and dispensing with political & linguistic correctness, you will learn to read Thai accurately (but without necessarily understanding at this stage). Nevertheless, by the end of the workshop you will have memorized around 500 key words (300 of which are derived from English) as a side effect. And you will be able to read and understand the above text! (Not to mention reading it aloud with the correct tones.) You'll already be able to do this on Sunday morning, and we will spend the rest of the day consolidating what you learned the day before by reading progressively more complex short stories. (The other texts that we will be working on - and which you will also be able to read & understand - are reproduced below.) It sounds incredible, but it works. And it's guaranteed.
Boys and girls are sporty and so can surf down the wave with ease (yeah!). This is the falling or emphatic tone, as in "yeah!" Ladyboys are clumsy and get thrown up in the air by the wave. The high-rising or skeptical tone, as in "really?" Most people give up on Thai because it seems so difficult. Not so! Thai is relatively easy to learn (much fewer words than other major languages, a very simple grammar, fairly consistent, etc.). And even the tones are not as alien as you would expect. English uses the same tones as Thai, just for different purposes (e.g., the rising tone is the same as when we ask a question: "is it mine?", "is it sohng?"). If you have lived (or intend to live) in Thailand for more than a year then you should learn some Thai. This is the fastest and easiest way to get started. I only give this workshop twice a year. It is a rare opportunity for you to jump-start your ability to learn Thai, which you will be able to do by absorbing (real) Thai very quickly from your surroundings, and without having to make a conscious effort to do so!
No more excuses! It isn't difficult and doesn't take long. Come along and get it out of the way once and for all... The traditional approach to learning Thai is time-consuming, arduous and expensive. This intensive workshop will free you from being an illiterate, uneducated migrant, stuck in an 'expat' bubble and limited to communicating in a curious 'farang' dialect known as 'Taxi Thai'. It's like having a veil lifted and suddenly being able to see and enjoy your surroundings for real. Research has shown that the more you read, the more you can hear and understand what people are saying. And then the ability to speak comes naturally. You only have to overcome your shyness in expressing yourself in a theatrical and singsong manner. Mental strategies to achieve this will be discussed in the workshop. (Speaking does also involved muscle training, of your mouth and tongue. So a good idea is to read aloud in an exaggerated manner. You'll find yourself communicating comfortably in no time!) Participants will receive the Read Thai in a Day self study e-course included in the workshop fee. Indeed, to derive maximum benefit from the workshop, it is a prerequisite that you work through the e-course briefly beforehand. It will allow us to immediately address the subtleties and typical questions of understanding and communicating in Thai. Please download the demo from www.learnthaionline.com. You may also choose to save money and go it alone by purchasing an access code directly. The e-course is backed by a no-quibbles 30-day money-back guarantee. Some people prefer the social aspects of learning in a fun, interactive way and being made to work through the exercises. You can always decide to come to the workshop later, in which case you'll get the cost of the e-course deducted from the workshop fee. If you wish to attend then please contact me with your email address and I will send you payment details. Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop.
